Pittsburgh Buckets was founded by Serra Catholic Boys Head Basketball Coach Justin Walther in February of 2016. He was a former Central Catholic basketball player. He attended Robert Morris College then went to be the All-Time Leading Scorer and 2-Time HOF Inductee at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. His assistant coaches are Mike Voit and David Tener.
Pittsburgh Buckets is a Basketball Organization serving local youths throughout Pittsburgh. Our goals are to help local youths develop leadership, hone their skill set, and build mental toughness that is essential in today’s society.
Pittsburgh Buckets Basketball helped both of my boys grow as individuals both on and off the court. It has challenged them to step out of their comfort zone, strive to be the best version of themselves, to play hard, unselfishly, and as a team every single practice and game. Justin and the rest of the coaching staff are extremely knowledgeable and have a unique ability to connect and engage with kids of all ages to help them improve as basketball players.
We started our son last year with the summer program to get him more prepared for the middle school basketball team. He enjoyed it so much that when we were approached to join the Buckets last fall as part of their travel team we jumped at the chance. My son loves the coaches and we have loved the experience that we continued with them for the spring tournaments. He is now in their summer program again and we can not wait for the fall.
The Pittsburgh Buckets program has made a tremendous impact on my son’s overall game. The commitment and willingness of Justin and his coaches to make every player better is what sets them apart from other programs in the area.
